Mother's Day and school schedules in Guatemala!

Hello there and welcome to the latest update from Guatemala!

Every year we celebrate Mothers Day in Itzapa, Guatemala but this year is was INCREDIBLE! Firstly, we enjoyed dances prepared and practices by each grade, the children did a spectacular job and they were dressed beautifully in traditional dress.  We then played games and as the event came to a close…some surprise visitors arrived! Check out the video to see what the teacher’s did next http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHJHBfbmY3A!

On top of this, the girl’s football team competed in departmental football and in Santa maria we filmed an update on the children’s classes this month, firstly with Santiago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xdViVw0N3o and afterwards with Elvia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYx5GRPMeMQ.

Special celebrations and normal school days are all part of a well-rounded education and are vital for these children. Thanks to you and your continued support through donations we can continue to make school great!

Next Wednesday, June 12, from 9am GlobalGiving is matching all donations to us at 50%. This means a donation of $10 would become $15 thanks to GlobalGiving. This is a fabulous opportunity for you to make your donation even BIGGER and have a BIGGER impact. I’ll send you a reminder just as the match funding starts but please, do consider making a donation that will give more than usual!!

Thank you.
