2013 is upon us, quicker I think than we all imagined, although not quick enough for the kids, eager for the new term to start on Monday. Itzapa moves into its second year as a legalised official school and Santa María paperwork is in for 2014, as well as secondary school in Itzapa. Our exam results from 2012 were incredible, with many children earning in the high nineties across the board of language, math, sciences and sport.
This year, your very kind donations will be going towards the salaries of our 12 local teachers. They will also go towards all the necessary utensils, materials and running costs of our schools, including fresh water to drink. We will also be investing in Plan Arveja China (green beans) and Plan Moo (milking cows), which moves towards our sustainability model, by investing in income-generating sustainable plans, including agriculture and livestock, which in the future, will bring in income for the schools.
Finally, we will also be running various charity challenges in Guatemala, so if you want to come down, see where your money is going, lend a hand and get involved in a charity challenge, please do email us on sarah@thephoenixprojects.org and have a look at the website on www.thephoenixprojects.org
Many thanks for making 2013 a special year, in the past, present and indeed future!
cheers
