Independence Day celebrations

By Dom Williams | Founder and Director

The Itzapa band hits the streets
The Itzapa band hits the streets

September is all about Independence Day in Guatemala. Our Itzapa school band played for hours through the streets in front of thousands of people keepíng up a good quick beat and bringing smiles to the hundreds who lined the streets. They have been practising for months and it all paid off. In Santa María traditional symbols were remembered in art classes. Both schools are coming to the end of the school year next month so plenty of preparation for the final exams!

This year’s Annual Appeal is dedicated to our daily food and fruit program with the aim to provide now and sustainably in the future: how? For every $25 donated to this page one child will receive the daily food and fruit we provide each year and we will also plant a fruit tree which will continue giving in the future. Many thanks for your donations in advance and together we can sustain daily food for the children.
