At the Patronato Foundation, weprovidesupporttopopulationsdeeplyaffectedby social, economic, and politicalinequalities. Theseconditionslimittheiraccesstobasicservices, especiallythoserelatedtophysical and mental health. Poverty, familydisintegration, lackofaccesstoinformation, and structuralviolenceputourchildren and adolescents in a stateofconstantvulnerability.
In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in the demand for mental health support. It is alarming that, according to the World Health Organization, approximately one in eight people worldwide suffers from a mental disorder, yet the majority of them do not receive the proper treatment. This reality is even more dire in vulnerable communities, where barriers to accessing psychosocial care and social stigma continue to prevent many from seeking or receiving the help they need.
Aware of this reality, at the Foundation, we seek support to provide comprehensive mental health care for 50 children and adolescents, taking into account their family and social context and providing them with the tools to heal and overcome the challenges they face.
It’s urgent to take action. Together, we can help more children and adolescents receive the support they need to transform their lives.
