Deyler is 13 years old and was born in Apartadó. His story is that of a boy who, despite many challenges, continues to hold on to his dreams of learning and moving forward. For some time now, he has been living with chronic conjunctivitis, a condition that has gradually dimmed the clarity of his vision, limiting his participation in class and putting his educational journey at risk. Imagining a blurred notebook, an unreachable blackboard, and the constant effort to see brings us closer to Deyler’s daily reality—a silent struggle that no child should have to endure.
Thanks to the compassion of his teacher, Didier, and the commitment of educators in his community, his case reached the María Auxiliadora Foundation. With effort and hope, Deyler and his mother traveled to Medellín to receive specialized ophthalmological care. There, he was provided with medication and a treatment plan that will continue for six months, along with ongoing follow-up. This process not only seeks to improve his vision but also to restore his confidence, peace of mind, and ability to learn without pain or frustration.
Today, more than ever, Deyler needs the support of kind-hearted people who believe in his future. Every contribution is an opportunity for him to see clearly again, to regain his joy in the classroom, and to ensure that his story does not come to a halt. Your help can make the difference between continuing to struggle in the dark or opening his eyes once again to a world full of possibilities. Donate today and be part of this life-changing journey.
