While She Waits, She Can Hear
Dalianys is just 2 years old and traveled with her family from Barranquilla to Medellín after being diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. To continue her development, she urgently needed specialized hearing aids.
In Colombia, delays through the public healthcare system (EPS) meant that Dalianys was losing critical time for her speech and cognitive development. While her family continues waiting for the authorization of a future cochlear implant, we decided she could not keep waiting in silence.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and our partnership with IPS San Roque, Dalianys was able to travel to Medellín and receive the hearing aids she needed.
For a child this young, hearing aids are much more than a medical device. They mean hearing a voice, a song, or her first words—opening the door for her to learn, communicate, and connect with the world around her.
Her journey is not over, and the cochlear implant remains an important next step. But today, thanks to you, Dalianys is no longer waiting in silence. She is already listening, learning, and discovering her world.
Thank you for giving Dalianys the opportunity to hear, learn, and grow!
