Health care for low-income children in Colombia

As we close the year 2024, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the unconditional support you have given us. It has been a year full of challenges, learning, and moments of gratitude, in which your generosity has been instrumental in ensuring that our children and adolescents with health conditions receive proper treatment and quality medical care. Thanks to you, we have been able to improve the quality of life of children and adolescents, as well as that of their families.

This year, we offered workshops designed to encourage emotional development, anxiety management, and stress. A space where our young people could express their emotions through art, develop social skills, discover their strengths and, above all, reflect on their identity and their process of self-knowledge.

We also held workshops aimed at families, in which guidance was offered on their children's diagnoses, appropriate care and the importance of tolerance to frustration. In addition, we gave a talk aimed at mothers, with the aim of guiding them in the creation of their own enterprises, thus promoting their economic independence and family well-being.

All of these achievements, both in healthcare and workshops, have been made possible by the support of people like you. We say goodbye to this year with a deep feeling of gratitude and love, and with great expectations and dreams for the coming year. We look forward to continuing to count on your valuable support to continue providing children and adolescents with the fair and necessary medical care to which they are entitled.

Dear Donor,

We want to tell you about Helen, an empathetic, brave and loving girl. In 2022, she and her family came to our Foundation seeking help for her medical condition: spina bifida, a neural tube defect that can affect motor and sensory function, as well as other aspects of health. Her health insurance was delaying her treatments and therapies, making her situation even more difficult.

Since joining the Foundation, we have provided Helen with the necessary support for her recovery, including medication and a comprehensive rehabilitation program. This approach focuses on improving your muscle strength, mobility, and coordination, helping you develop skills that encourage your independence. In 2024, we have also been able to support her with a change of prosthesis, which has been essential for her well-being.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Helen not only receives the right care for her condition, but also participates in the art therapy project. This creative space is crucial to your recovery, allowing you to express your feelings, improve your emotional well-being, and foster your personal development.

We deeply appreciate your support, which makes it possible for children like Helen to receive the care and opportunities they deserve. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in their lives.
