Project update

By Samuel Chigamba | Project Leader

Dear Donors & Supporters

We trust you are well as you are reading this report.

We have not received a donation towards the  posting our project Donate now propel our outreach and field work project since it was uploaded on the GlobalGiving Site, however our team is working tirelessly to identify new donors to support the project.

We have conducted a number of activities this year that all required transportation of our staff, we have resorted to using public transport as usual and in some situations have relied on vihecles owned by some of our partners to transport us to the field.

As i am writting this report multiple regions in Malawi have been affected due to heavy rainfall that triggered flooding that has led to deaths and injuries while leaving others displaced.

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA), operating under the office of the president and cabinet has reported that 128 households have been displaced and 12 evacuation camps have been established across six councils, however this poses as a challenge as often evacuation camps are geografically dispersed, public transport is often unreliable and can not reach the camps and it is expensive, we are unable to effectively  visit these camps or access the situation of persons with epilepsy and decide necessary internventions required to be carried out due to the lack of a dedicated vehicle for the organization.

Furthermore it is rainy season and having no vehicle makes it very had to move around for outreach of field work.

Inclnclusinsion having a dedicated vehicle for the organization will significantly ensure that all its work is timely done with minimal costs as compaired to using public transport.
