The climate change adaptation project will address the urgent and growing threat of climate change being faced by the poor and vulnerable communities in rural area of Sindh. We need to save mother earth because we have no plan-B, there is need to empower the common people to prepare themselves to combat with hazardous of climate change and reduce their vulnerabilities. It is expected that this awareness raising project will provide more opportunities for constructive social engagement of yuoth.
The global warming has placed Pakistan in great vulnerability due to its location. Pakistan's hydrological regime upstream and downstream is highly connected; if north gets surplus of water from heavy rainfall or snow/glacier melting, it immediately runs down to the low elevation plains of Sindh and Punjab flooding the cultivated lands and destroying standing field crops. Climate change is one of the most pressing issues for the rural areas but no one is aware to combat, need to aware youth for.
Therefore, there is need to create resilience among community to respond to climate variability and hazard threats. The climate change adaptation project will address the urgent and growing threat of climate change being faced by the poor and vulnerable communities in rural area of Sindh. This project will focus on awareness the common people to prepare themselves to combat with hazardous of climate change and reduce their vulnerability.
The Climate Awareness Campaign forms a key aspect of the NDF's communications strategy. It is expected that this awareness raising project will provide more opportunities for constructive social engagement and mobilization of civil society in order to cope with increasing climate change.
