Summary

This project will break the chains of inequality and exploitation! Girls in domestic work deserve an education and a chance at a brighter future. They are hidden away, vulnerable to abuse. Support us in convincing employers to allow our community teachers to bring literacy, numeracy, and life skills into their homes. Empowered by education, these girls can escape this cycle of injustice, access schools, or vocational training. Together, let's create a safer world where every girl thrives!

Challenge

The project aims to address the critical issue of children, predominantly girls, engaged in domestic work under harsh conditions, enduring abuse, and being denied education. Despite being illegal in Bangladesh, this form of child labour persists, with employers often considering themselves respectable citizens. The lack of education leaves these girls with a grim future, making it imperative to tackle this problem and create pathways to education and liberation.

Solution

This programme will bring education to the doorsteps of 320 girl domestic workers (aged 5-14) through literacy, numeracy, and life skills training at their workplace We support malnourished children with healthcare and food. 55% transition to school or vocational training, breaking free from domestic work. Micro-grant helps families start income-generating activities, reducing dependency on child earnings. Community-based awareness shifts perceptions on child labour.

Long-Term Impact

The lasting impact of this program is profound, Firstly, it breaks the cycle of child labour, liberating 320 girls from domestic work and opening doors to brighter opportunities. Secondly, it empowers future generations by providing education and essential skills. Thirdly, it alleviates poverty, as educated girls can access better job prospects. Fourthly, it promotes gender equality by challenging traditional norms. Moreover, the program fosters a change in societal mindset about child labour.
