It is being brought to your kind knowledge that with your kind support the project "Drinking Water for Humans, Animals of Thar" with the collaboration of GlobalGiving, USA is progressing and more and more water wells of safe drinking water are being dug/established in remote and distant areas of Thar in Pakistan. Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) is especially grateful to the donors who have been continuously donating to this project. Thar is a vast desert spreading over thousands of square kilometers and the people live in small villages where there is no water source. Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) has been striving hard to establish more and more water wells for the humans as well as animals of Thar. These water wells have brought a substantial change in the socioeconomic conditions of the people of Thar besides providing drinking water this project has proved a game changer by providing lively hood for the people of Thar because most of the locals are involved in the digging of wells which gives them substantial amount as labor charges on daily basis.

The people of Thar have now access to safe drinking water which has resulted in improving their health as previously they have been suffering from many waterborne diseases. The donors across the globe are kindly requested to donate generously to establish more and more water wells in order to supply safe water to the humans and animals of Thar.

Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) is very grateful to you for your kind support to the project Drinking Water for Humans, Animals of Thar. This is one of the first project of CHCS which has attracted a large number of donors across the globe who has donated generously for the project and CHCS has been able to dig many wells for the Humans as well as animals of Thar.

In the wake of the emergent need of drinking water, the teams of CHCS under the supervision of the Patron-in-Chief, Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah and in collaboration with GlobalGiving USA, embarked upon the task of digging of water for the people of Tharparkar and has been able to dig and complete more than 1500 wells of fresh, sweet and hygienic water during the last 10 years, These water wells have gone a long way in improving the socioeconomic conditions of the people of Tharparkar in general and health of women and children in particular. On one hand they are providing ample fresh, sweet and hygienic and drinking as well as useable water to the thousands of people and animals of Tharparkar on daily basis at their door steps and on the other hand, they have also provided livelihood to the hundreds of families of Thar involved in digging and construction of these water wells.

These water wells are also quenching the thirst of thousands of animals which are far more abundant than people in the Thar. Raising cattle, camels, sheep and goats is the main source of livelihood for the people of Thar. There are 4.6 million animals in Tharparkar, to the official 2018 livestock census, accounting for 21% of nation’s total livestock. In view of the above, it was also important to provide drinking water to the animals also. CHCS has also built water troughs besides every well for the animals where herds of animals like cattle, animals and a flocks of birds including beautiful peacocks come regularly to quench their thirst. Besides the water well.
