We are helping parents of young children with disabilities, including autism and intellectual disabilities by providing curated books focused on early childhood development and tailored to their children's disability. These books will be placed in our local play and toy library in Singapore.
Parents of young children with disabilities, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities in Singapore, face a significant challenge: limited access to readily available and tailored educational resources. This gap cripples their ability to provide vital early intervention, leaving vulnerable children without essential support.
This project solves the critical issue of limited access to tailored educational resources for Singaporean parents of children with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities by establishing a centralized, curated book collection within the local play and toy library. This dedicated resource provides parents with targeted strategies and information specific to their children's needs, empowering them to actively participate in early intervention at home.
Children will experience enhanced developmental outcomes through consistent, informed early intervention, while parents will gain confidence and become powerful advocates. Families will experience reduced stress and increased social connection. This project will create a sustainable support system, improving long-term educational outcomes and increase awareness of the needs of families with children with disabilities, contributing to a more equitable and understanding society.
