Whilst global temperatures continue to rise and extreme climates are forcing communities to migrate, climate scientists call for more urgent action. To enable people do their bit on Earth Day, 4 partner organisations launch this joint campaign. Talking to people, raising awareness, creating a buzz about what's possible to protect and restore nature. 1 Person can remove 1 Tonne f their CO2 to help Save Our Planet, tackle global warming and create jobs whilst creating forests.
What if we each remove 1 Tonne of CO2? Today? Nature gets 120 more trees Your 120 trees remove 1 Tonne of CO2. Not just for 1 year, but on average for every year the trees are growing! These 120 trees mean 1 day of paid work for a family living in extreme poverty in Madagascar where we plant the trees. Our team is already doing this! We've reached thousands of people. And planted over 1,750,000 trees. Created over 350 hectares of new forests. And provided over 17,500 days of paid work
By working together, human ingenuity can cut and remove CO2 emissions so as to limit global warming to safer levels. Planting trees is low cost and alone has the potential to remove over 10% of global CO2 emissions. 500,000 mangroves remove a total of 100,000 tonnes of CO2. And provide over 5,000 days of immediate paid work for families in extreme poverty. The success of this campaign paves the way for more phases of planting trees that together can build a critical mass to limit global warming.
