Dear donor,
Nearly two years have passed since the devastating earthquake that struck Southeastern Turkey, claiming over 50,000 lives and leaving countless households in ruins. Despite efforts to rebuild, life has not yet returned to normal for many affected families. CYDD remains steadfast in its commitment to support young students in these regions through education-focused relief efforts.
CYDD representatives in Adyaman, Kahramanmaras, and the branch representative in Antakya, Hatay, continue to conduct regular house visits to identify the needs of schoolchildren in their neighborhoods. These efforts are crucial in understanding and addressing the challenges faced by families whose income levels have drastically declined since the disaster.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, CYDD’s new primary and secondary school scholarships are primarily directed toward young students from earthquake-affected areas.
