Project Report: East Equatoria Community Peace Talks, South Sudan

Introduction
The South Sudan Grassroots Initiative for Development (SSGID) is deeply committed to fostering peace, harmony, and peaceful co-existence among communities in South Sudan. As part of these efforts, the East Equatoria Community Peace Talks project was initiated to address and resolve conflicts in Eastern Equatoria State, with a particular focus on Magwi and Kapoeta Counties. This report provides an overview of the project activities, challenges, and achievements, and a call to action for well-wishers and donors to support this critical cause.
Background and Context
Eastern Equatoria State has long been plagued by intercommunal conflicts, resource-based disputes, and historical grievances that have disrupted lives and livelihoods. Communities in Magwi and Kapoeta Counties have faced recurring clashes over cattle rustling, land disputes, and access to scarce resources such as water and grazing lands.
