Striving to Build a School for Underprivileged: a 2025 Note

Building learning facilities process in early 2025

Since 2023, many meaningful milestones have marked our journey to provide inclusive education for underprivileged children, youth, and communities through the Punthuk Sewu Training Center. In 2024, our informal education programs reached a limited number of learners and were delivered amid significant constraints in facilities and resources. At that time, we had only one main learning space—an open hall known locally as a limasan. From this modest beginning, our initiative took shape.

What started as a simple effort to create learning opportunities for children from underprivileged families grew into afternoon learning classes where children could study, play, and read together. Through persistent effort, by early 2024, we established a livestock training facility—a sheep barn with a capacity of up to 100 animals—which became a practical space for skills training. Supported by adjacent farmland used to develop sustainable agriculture methods, we have remained committed to providing education, even as it continues in an informal form.

Along this journey, we came to realize the importance of establishing a formal school—one that can reach more children and youth through a structured curriculum and generate greater, long-term impact. This realization has led us to begin fundraising efforts to turn this aspiration into reality.

Here is where you can make a difference. Every contribution you make directly supports our efforts to build a formal school despite our limitations. Your support is the key that enables us to move forward.

Our vision is to develop essential facilities, including classrooms, a library, laboratories, dormitories, sanitation facilities, and other supporting infrastructure. These facilities will serve as the foundation for a formal school dedicated to serving underprivileged communities. With your help, this vision can become a reality—sooner and stronger than we could achieve on our own.

God bless us all.
