Project Update: Preparing English Classes for Children in Our Afternoon School

By Ahmad Afif | Project Staff

Dear Supporters and Friends,

We are pleased to share an update on our ongoing efforts to strengthen English education for children at our Afternoon School. This initiative is part of our commitment to ensuring that children from underprivileged rural backgrounds gain access to essential skills that will support their future education and opportunities.

Why English Classes Matter

In our community, many children come from families with limited educational backgrounds. As a result, they often lack exposure to English, a skill that is increasingly important for:

  • Continuing education at higher levels
  • Accessing digital learning resources
  • Building confidence and communication skills

Our Afternoon School provides a safe and supportive space where children can learn English in a fun, interactive, and encouraging environment—outside their regular school hours.

What We Are Preparing

To ensure the quality and sustainability of the English classes, we are currently preparing:

  • Learning modules tailored to children’s age and learning levels
  • Interactive teaching methods, including games, storytelling, and group activities
  • Simple learning materials such as flashcards, worksheets, and visual aids
  • Class schedules that fit children’s after-school routines

These classes will be held in the late afternoon, allowing children to use their time productively while staying engaged and motivated to learn.

Our Next Steps

In the coming weeks, we will begin:

  • Trial sessions with small groups of children
  • Continuous evaluation of learning progress
  • Coordination with parents to ensure consistent attendance and support

I appreciate your Support

This program is possible because of your continued trust and generosity. Your support helps us provide children with more than lessons—it gives them confidence, hope, and tools for the future.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the classes begin.

With gratitude,

Punthuk Sewu School Team
