A child’s educational success is shaped not only by the quality of their school, but also by the support they receive at home. In many rural communities, however, consistent academic guidance remains a significant challenge.
Many parents did not have the opportunity to pursue adequate formal education themselves. Some did not complete primary or secondary school, making it difficult for them to assist their children with homework, reading assignments, or mathematics exercises. This limitation is not due to a lack of care—but a lack of access in their own educational journey.
At the same time, economic realities demand long working hours. Many parents are employed in agriculture, informal labor, or daily wage jobs that leave them physically exhausted by the end of the day. After hours of labor, they often lack the time and energy needed to supervise their children’s studies.
Additionally, parental literacy regarding effective learning support remains limited. Many parents are unfamiliar with how to:
Build structured study routines
Encourage reading habits
Guide children in using digital resources responsibly
Support problem-solving and critical thinking skills
As a result, children often study without strong direction. Homework is completed without deep understanding. Study habits fail to develop. Over time, academic gaps widen—and educational inequality becomes more entrenched.
Learning support in rural areas is not merely an additional program.
It is a bridge that reduces educational disparity.
What We Are Doing
Through Punthuk Sewu Learning Center, we provide structured and consistent learning support for school-aged children.
Our program offers:
Supplemental tutoring to strengthen school subjects
Mentoring by dedicated volunteer teachers
Development of disciplined study habits
Reinforcement of foundational literacy and numeracy skills
Motivation-building and character development
We are also gradually strengthening parental engagement through regular communication and learning monitoring mechanisms, ensuring parents remain connected to their children’s educational progress.
Our goal is not to replace parents—but to empower families and reinforce children’s learning environments.
Support Our Mission
We invite you to support our efforts in providing structured learning assistance for rural children.
Your contribution will help us:
Improve learning facilities and resources
Develop educational materials
Support volunteer educators
Expand access to more underserved children
Every child deserves a fair opportunity to learn—regardless of their family’s limitations.
Together, we can ensure that rural children are not left behind.
Because when children receive the right support, their future changes.
