Dear friends of Diakonia Agapes

Through your support, we have been able to provide services for women farmers.

M. K, a 42-year-old farmer from Jagodinë, expressed her gratitude for the support: "I have acquired knowledge on seed planting, combating pests, understanding seed germination stages, managing soil infections, and proper irrigation techniques. By diligently following the advice and recommendations of the agricultural specialist and implementing them in my practices, I have observed improvements in vegetable cultivation."

Support for female farmers to build greenhouses - female farmers from the villages of Shirgjan and Bujqës have received financial assistance to construct a 90 m2 greenhouse. Additionally, they were provided with winter seedlings.

M. B, a 60-year-old farmer from Shirgjan, shared her experience: "Economic aid was the sole source of income for my family. With the financial support from the project and my contribution, I was able to construct the greenhouse. This opportunity not only enabled me to grow agricultural products in a protected environment but also ensured that the vegetables meet the required standards to compete in the market."

One-one consultancy service - Throughout the reporting period, 20 women farmers benefitted from consultancy sessions delivered by an agricultural specialist. Each consultation involved a comprehensive assessment of greenhouse conditions, plant health, and required services for the planting season.

Thanks to your generous support:

  • Investments in greenhouse technology stand out as a means of enhancing the livelihoods of women and their families within these communities.
  • Our commitment to fostering sustainable entrepreneurship among female farmers remains unwavering. This encompasses not only the provision of essential resources and infrastructure but also empowering beneficiaries with the requisite knowledge and skills to proficiently manage their agricultural enterprises.

With your continued partnership, we can build a brighter, more equitable future for women farmers in rural areas.

With respect,

Diakonia Agapes team
