In the face of escalating climate change, coastal ecosystems such as mangroves play a critical role in both mitigation and adaptation. A Capacity Building Program has been organized by the community members at th Nolbunia area under Banishanta union focused on climate adaptation by the mangrove actor is an essential and timely initiative that can significantly improve environmental resilience and socio-economic sustainability. Mangroves serve as natural barriers against extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and coastal erosion. They also support biodiversity and provide livelihoods for millions of people. However, these ecosystems are under growing threat from human activity and climate-induced stressors. Therefore, empowering the key stakeholders involved in mangrove management, often referred to as "mangrove actors through targeted capacity-building initiatives is crucial. Diverse sector of the participants including local government, Forest department and others stakeholders were attended the program. The Ecovillage concept aim is to educate local communities, environmental officers, and policymakers on sustainable mangrove management, climate resilience strategies, and ecological restoration techniques. This community engagement campaigns can enhance technical knowledge and foster a sense of ownership among stakeholders. Moreover, integrating traditional knowledge with scientific practices may yield more culturally sensitive and effective adaptation approaches. An additional benefit of these programs is their potential to promote policy development and inter-agency coordination. By equipping stakeholders with the necessary tools and frameworks, governments and organizations can create a robust adaptive governance structure that ensures long-term ecosystem protection. The Capacity Building Program for mangrove actors not only strengthens climate adaptation efforts but also reinforces the socio-ecological value of mangroves. Investing in education, training, and local engagement is a vital step toward securing a sustainable and resilient coastal future.
The mangroves actor as a frontline defense against climate change, your support will empower local "mangrove actors" with essential knowledge, tools, and techniques for long-term environmental and socio-economic sustainability and scale up this impactful program and ensure the continued protection of our vulnerable coastal ecosystems.
