Dhammjarinee gives opportunity to all students
Dhammjarinee gives opportunity to all students

Our students send their heartfelt thanks for your generous support that has brought Dhammajarinee to higher levels of educational excellence. We are delighted to share recent highlights of activities and success. Enjoy more photos below the report.

Volunteering at a School near the Myanmar Border

On 13 September, grade 11 and 12 students volunteered at Ban Tha Makham School in Suan Phueng district near the Myanmar border. Dhammajarinee students designed and carried out all the activities themselves, including preparing a delicious noodle lunch and creating fun educational games for the children. Afterwards, students helped clean the grounds and provided food at a nearby community center.  These activities develop valuable teamwork and leadership skills and cultivate kindness and an attitude of giving.

Kindergarten Field Trip

On 6 September, kindergarten students enjoyed a field trip to a nature park, where they engaged in many fun activities, including feeding animals up close, playing and learning in a natural environment, and participating in an adventure maze. Learning outside the classroom was a valuable educational experience, allowing students to gain knowledge of nature and develop critical thinking through hands-on, enjoyable activities.

Middle School Camping Trip and Skill Training

From 20 to 22 September, the Middle School went on an overnight camping trip where they engaged in lively teamwork activities, cooked dinner themselves, and went hiking in beautiful scenery. Students also learned valuable martial arts for self-defense. The entire camp was a fun experience for the students and they simultaneously developed important life skills and qualities.

Musical Instruments were Donated by Sally Lim Kindness Fund

Sally Lim Kindness Fund offers financial assistance to the needy for education and healthcare. This recent donation of musical instruments to Dhammajarinee is in memory of Sally Lim from Singapore who passed away in March 2023. Sally Lim first visited the school in 2003, set up the school's first computer classroom, taught English in the school, and sponsored a student to attend university. This contribution to the school’s music program will help culture our students' creativity, cognitive development, emotional expression, discipline, teamwork, and confidence, enhancing their overall well-being and development.

Python Training with Code School Finland

We are very grateful that this month, Code School Finland’s Master Trainer in Helsinki remotely trained 12 Dhammajarinee teachers in their third module, “Syntax and Solutions.” Code School Finland’s program is based on the world-famous Finnish educational model of project-based learning. This method places the student at the center of learning and thereby promotes engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking. The teachers and students love Code School Finland, having already been trained in the previous two modules of Scratch programming.

The “Syntax and Solutions” module introduces textual programming and allows practicing working life skills in a fun and innovative way. Students become employees of a software company and fulfill customer orders by designing and implementing utility programs and automation with Python. In addition to learning Python basics and creating fully working programs in teams, students develop their computational thinking and pursue an entrepreneurial attitude. Students are not just loving learning coding but are now winning awards in game and software development. They are pursuing university majors in technology and completing their education at Dhammajarinee with skills that are greatly in-demand in Thailand.

Presenting and Receiving Awards at a Fair for Private Education

On 16 September, Dhammajarinee presented outstanding work at a Fair for Private Education on the topic of “Happy Learning, Successful Education.” Topics included:

-Makerspace classroom, an area for innovation and learning with 3D printing and robotics

-Vocational skills, with pastry making, drink making, and creative handicrafts

-Traditional Thai Recitation

The school’s Director Acharn Yai, a head teacher, and a student also received awards.

Congratulations to an Exceptional Alumna

We are very proud of Phaichitra, an alumna of Dhammajarinee, who this month graduated from university with a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree. She also received the Outstanding Student Award and the Outstanding Graduate Award from the university. Phaichitra's determination and effort are admirable. We wish that her nursing career is filled with success, happiness, and fulfillment.
