NDEF seek to provide accommodation, school fees and study materials for 20 girls who have forced to drop out of schools due to the loss of their parents and/or have been displaced and are currently living in dire conditions due to the ongoing anglophone crisis in Cameroon. Educating a girl is educating a nation. We believe with the help of our donors, sky will be the limit for these girls whose life are going to turn around for the best and change the way they are being perceived in the society.
With the persistent crisis turned into a critical civil war, children of poor income households are misplaced on streets and we are witnessing an exponential increase in the numbers of deaths. Young girls are forced into early marriages and for some of them physical acts of violence and abuse is part of their everyday life. there are some during this chaos who are willing to go to school but with the lack of resources and support they find themselves on the streets.
As a contribution to solve the issues in the communities affected by this crises, we are seeking to empower teenage girls by sponsoring them financially through their high school certificate completion. This project is not only designed to guide young girls with appropriate educational orientation but also it is to provide them with accommodation and fully paid tuition to graduate from high school which will later on be a great determinant factor to a better social integration.
The impact of this project is both measurable and sustainable in several areas of the society. Firstly, it opens the mind of a community to new possibilities and new perspectives for the future of the community. Secondly it reduces significantly the level of poverty for the community and lastly in the drive of achieving a sustainable development for the community. This project will educate and provide scholarships to 20 teenage girls every year allowing them to rise out of poverty.
