Challenge

Many OVC in Nigeria face extreme poverty, lack of access to school materials, and unstable family situations. Without support, children drop out, miss opportunities, and face vulnerability to child labor or exploitation. Girls are particularly at risk of early marriage or teenage pregnancy, and both boys and girls often struggle to access consistent, quality education.

Solution

The project provides school materials, tuition, uniforms, and educational support to OVC. Tutoring, mentorship, and life skills training help children catch up academically and develop confidence. Caregivers are engaged to encourage attendance, and peer groups support social skills. Programs are designed to help children remain in school and improve their long-term learning outcomes.

Long-Term Impact

Children gain regular access to education, improve their academic performance, and build confidence. School attendance increases, dropouts decline, and vulnerable children are better prepared for future learning and employment. Girls are less likely to face early marriage or teenage pregnancy. The community benefits from stronger youth development, reduced vulnerability, and empowered young citizens.
