Learning English: The Key to the World

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Can a language change a person's life?

For our students, who have grown up in harsh circumstances, learning English is not just an additional skill; it is the key to new opportunities and an entirely different life. It is the bridge that can transport them from a reality full of challenges to a future filled with hope and unlimited possibilities.

In the latest knowledge session organized by the Academic Advisory Team titled "How Can I Improve My English?", effective methods for enhancing language proficiency were highlighted. However, this session was not just about traditional advice; it was a live interaction between our experts and students, focusing on their aspirations, ambitions, and how to overcome the challenges they face.

The session began with a crucial step: assessing each student's level of English. This step was the foundation that enabled each student to draw up a personal learning plan tailored to their needs and aspirations. They now have clear, realistic, and achievable goals, which help them confidently move forward toward mastering the language.

Deborah, our guest from Switzerland, presented the students with a brilliant analogy of language learning as an iceberg. The words we use fluently are the visible part of the iceberg, while reaching the depths—where the words we understand and use in different contexts reside—requires effort and dedication. This analogy illuminated the importance of perseverance and commitment in the language learning journey, inspiring students to continue striving for comprehensive mastery.

But is academic education alone enough to master a language?

This was the central question raised in the session, and the answer opened new horizons for students about self-learning. Through daily practice, enjoyable reading, listening to experiences, and even educational games, students can develop their skills outside the classroom. The session also highlighted how artificial intelligence and educational apps can become powerful tools in their learning journey.

Each of these strategies represents a building block in constructing a strong and solid future for the students, and none of this would have been possible without your support. Your support has given them the opportunity to stand confidently today in front of a new world full of possibilities. Their dreams have turned into achievable plans, and they now have the means to realize those dreams.

Always remember: one word can change a life. And with every new word these students learn, you are the reason behind the transformation of their future.
