What could be more important than protecting the rights of children and building their future? It is our collective commitment, and our deep belief that education is the foundation upon which societies are built and flourish.
For more than 31,322 students over four years, the Masarat Initiative was not just an educational project, but a window to a new life. These children have lived through wars, destruction, and have lost more than any human should.
Since 2011, 1,681 schools in Syria have been directly attacked, according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights. Particularly in northern Syria, 45% of the schools ceased operations due to a cessation of support, as reported by Syria Response Coordinators.
Imagine your school turning to rubble before your eyes, and losing the place that gave you hope for a better future. For these children, the school was the only safe haven amidst the chaos of war, but this safety has been destroyed.
Yet, these numbers were not the end of the story. Through your partnership, we have been able to rebuild this safety and provide a safe and sustainable educational environment.
From school education that provided an integrated environment, to student activities that revealed children's talents and helped them grow personally, to academic counseling that helped them achieve their educational goals, and finally to vocational training that prepared them to enter the job market and face economic challenges.
You have been part of a relentless driving force, restoring hope to every child whose progress was hindered by harsh conditions. The future of Syria has begun here, with every student learning, with every dream throbbing back to life.
Together, we have proven that education is not just a means to learn reading and writing, but it is a fundamental human right, and a key pillar in reviving an entire community.
