New year new semester updates

By James Oyugi Were | Project Leader

Hello Friends,

The new year is here with us and the new semester begins. The transition to Kenyan education system is taking shape as the grade 8 is coming to a close. Last year was the last time Kenyan governenment was testing grade 8 with KCPE exams.

Allthe government is fully adopting CBC which is competency based curriculum from the 8-4-4  system.

We had several pupils who qualifies for grade 7 in junior secondary schools and grade 9 high schools. It has been a challenge educating students in the slums as most parents are living below a dollar a day and with no stable incomes.

JW foundation has been sponsoring students to access hight school and college education. JWF was able to sponsor 12 to different high schools which has been the. Highest number so far in the recent times. We desire to do more and we believe with your support we can do a lot more.

JWF is also happy to share that the four students that they have been sponsoring and who sat for their Kenya certificate of secondary school exams, all passed and got grades A- minus which is taking them straight to the university.

We love your effort. It made us achieve a lot. We sincely thank you richly.
