Educate a Girl, Educate a Nation - iraq

Many girls in remote areas of iraq do not have access to schools or to free, quality education. Increasing social and economic pressures force children living in poverty to drop out of school at a young age to support their family. This is especially true for girls, who often end up working in fields or factories, becoming vulnerable to life-long struggle and exploitation.

The opportunity to complete an education has been proven to help end poverty, lifelong struggle, exploitation and abuse. BAORD currently has more than 150 students from pre-school to grade 12 from all regions of Iraq. In the words of Project Manager Enas, “If the school does not help take care of these girls, their problems will multiply. I do not want to see these groups of children increase in society. What we are doing is a preventive solution to the problem, and currently we are helping and supporting them through financial grants and stationery Clothes, psychological support, education on the computer and education of their mothers, let the girls go back to school and not marry early.
