Meet Madison - a Hero - Like YOU

Hello,

Every day at Develop Africa we receive donations that shape the lives of many. Allow me to share one amazing story with you.

On January 29th, 2013, we received an email through Develop Africa's website from Madison K. She said:

Hi, My name is Madison. I am 12 years old and asking for school supplies for my birthday. My birthday isn't for a few months but I was looking for a good place to send what I receive. At the moment I don't know how much I will be sending, but I'm hoping to fill a large box.

Madison like you knows the importance of education. She also knows that there are many societies that need additional educational support.

We were touched to see her dedication and generosity.  She decided to ask for school supplies instead of gifts for her birthday.

The included photos show Madison with the supplies she collected and sent to Develop Africa. A copy of a printed letter that she sent (words with identifying information whited out) is also included.

She says in this letter:

I have decided to send these supplies to you because I know how fortunate I am, and that others may not be as fortunate.

Madison is a real hero.

We are also deeply touched by YOUR generosity each day. This helps ship and distribute the supplies we receive -  helping to educate girls in Sierra Leone.  We certainly could not do this without YOU.

You are a true hero.

Together, we are an awesome team of real-life heroes
