For many decades, girls were traditionally excluded from access to educational opportunities in Africa. Today, boys still receive preferential access.
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.
According to UNICEF-
The ongoing COVID-19 crisis will continue to disproportionately impact children, women, and girls, threatening to reverse hard-won gains towards gender equality. Social protection measures have a crucial role to play to mitigate coping mechanisms by the poor and vulnerable in both the immediate COVID-19 response as well as the longer-term recovery.
Because of YOUR support girls in Sierra Leone are getting their education and the support they need to overcome the hardships COVID-19 has brought on. You have helped provide school supplies, masks, soap, and radios to girls in Sierra Leone. Your support is profoundly changing not only the individual girls' lives but also the entire nation.
