Hope Academy for Girls has a New Hands-Free Washing Station

Hands-Free Washing Station at Hope Academy

Project Supporters,

Thanks to you, girls are getting the support they need to become future leaders in Africa. This past week a hands-free washing station was set up at Hope Academy for Girls at York Village.

The students at Hope Academy were encouraged to use the hands-free washing stations not only during this period of Covid-19 but on an ongoing basis as it helps promote much-needed hygiene in their schools and reduce the spread of germs.

The design of the mobile hand's fee washing is essential to limit cross-contamination between hand washers. The main components of the system entail: a water tank with a holding capacity of 200 Liters and a sink that holds the water and direct it into another third component which is the wastewater holding bucket and on the right side is a sub dispensable unit and on the left, a tap and are both operated by foot.

The students at Hope Academy were very thankful for the handwashing station, saying it was a dream come true that they won’t have to fetch water on a daily basis. According to the Head of the Hope Academy for Girls, the whole idea of the hands-free washing station comes with what they as a school believe in keeping the school environment clean.

Your support is profoundly changing not only the individual girls' lives but also the entire nation. Our recurring donors are making a continuous impact and we are truly grateful for the ongoing support.

If you are not yet a recurring donor, we warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way. Consistent support is the key as this is the best way to ensure ongoing impact.

Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this worthy, ongoing project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

With great appreciation,
