Onike Thrives Despite Special Needs

Dear Project Supporters,

We introduced Onike in November 2020 as a special needs student who was struggling significantly at school. In December of 2020, a private teacher was hired to assist Onike with her education thanks in part to your support.

Onike having her own teacher to give her one-on-one attention has made a huge difference for her education. We're happy to report that Onike has improved significantly with her learning letters, shapes, numbers, and is even starting to read. Being able to learn and improve is not only an accomplishment but a motivator for her to continue to work hard with the right support in place.

Onike recently received a tablet to use for her education while at school. This has greatly helped her learn visually and through a hands-on approach. Now, she is gaining knowledge as well as valuable computer technology experience. Onike's teacher Arabia also sent a video clip of Onike doing educational exercises on her tablet. You can watch Onike's progress in this video.   We're happy with the progress Onike has made and look forward to her continued progress.

If you are not yet a recurring donor and would like to sign up for a recurring donation go here. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting girls' education in Sierra Leone.  Investing in the education of girls is an effective way to stimulate positive change in Africa.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

Thank you again from the Develop Africa team.
