FAWE School Computer Class Update

By Amy M Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

In October we shared that the Computer Lab at the FAWE all-girls school received new computers.   The FAWE students have now been using the Windows 10 Operating System for the past several weeks and are really progressing with their computer training.

They have been learning how to access software on a windows PC and open programs, how to open MS word and use it to type, how to create a folder and save files in it, how to open a folder and close it, how to open Paint program and use it to draw shapes, and how to open a calculator and close it.  They can use the mouse to navigate within a windows system very well and can open files from different folders like images & videos.

The students show their new skills in this video-

Teacher: Okay, what is your name?
Student: Zainab
Teacher: Okay; When typing use your two hands. Try typing

Teacher: What are you typing?
Student: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
Teacher: okay very good.

Teacher: What is your name?
Student: My name is Isha
Teacher: Isha can you calculate for me fifty plus seventy?

Teacher: So what is the answer?
Student: One hundred and twenty
Teacher: That is good.

Your generous support continues to impact the girls' education at the FAWE School. We are truly grateful for your generosity. Every dollar donated makes an impact on girls' education.

We warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation to continue girls' education if you haven't already done so. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

With great appreciation,
