Menstruation shouldn't prevent a girl from getting her education.
Menstruation is associated with stigma and girls feel embarrassed, often excluding themselves from school and other social activities during their periods. Lack of access to functional and segregated toilets, limited information on menstrual hygiene management, and limited availability of sanitary materials to manage menstruation make it more difficult for girls to manage their periods. Thanks to your support sanitary pads and reusable pads are being distributed to girls in need in Sierra Leone.
Additionally, your support has helped provide mentoring sessions and peer-to-peer counseling to help girls prepare for puberty and boost their confidence. Mentoring Sessions covered puberty, the physical and chemical changes and characteristics of menstruation, and adolescent reproduction and relationships.
This is positively increasing school attendance and helping our girls succeed.
We invite you to consider a year-end donation to help to continue to provide sanitary pads to girls in Sierra Leone each month.
If you are not yet a recurring donor, we warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way.
