Joy's Getting Prepared for the WASSCE

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

As the school year winds down, many students around the world are preparing for their final exams or exams that promote the student(s) to the next grade.  In Sierra Leone, those tests are the National Primary School Examination (NPSE), which promotes elementary students to Junior Secondary School, the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which promotes Junior Secondary students to Senior Secondary, and the West African Senior School Certification Examination (WASSCE) which is the final exam of Senior Secondary School.  Once a student passes the WASSCE, they are then able to go to college.

Thanks in part to your support, Joy received textbooks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics to help her prepare for the WASSCE.

She expressed her gratitude in this video saying-

Hello, my name is Joy, one of the beneficiaries of Develop Africa. I want to thank Develop Africa donors so much for giving me these textbooks. These textbooks will help me a lot in my studies for my WASSCE (West African Senior Secondary School examination).

After she passes her WASSCE exam, Joy would like to attend college to study medicine to become a medical doctor. We are excited for Joy's future and truly grateful for your generosity. Every dollar donated makes an impact on girls' education, like Joy's.

We warmly invite you to consider setting up a recurring donation if you haven't already done so. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

With great appreciation,

Amy and the Develop Africa team
