Empowering Hawa's Futures Through Computer Training

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Sierra Leone faces challenges in providing equal educational opportunities, particularly in technology-related fields. Recognizing the importance of bridging this gap, initiatives have been undertaken to empower young women through computer training, aiming to equip them with skills essential for the modern workforce.

Thanks in part to your support, more girls and young ladies are getting the computer training they need for success in today's technology-driven environment. Hawa received a certificate of completion for intro to computers and Microsoft Office- Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint/Presentation, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Access/Database, and Microsoft Internet Browser.

She expressed her gratitude in this video saying, "Hello. My name is Hawa. I'm a student of Develop Africa. I want to say a very big thank you for the scholarship and the transportation fees."

Computer training for young women in Sierra Leone is not just about imparting technical skills; it is a powerful tool for empowerment, fostering a generation of confident, skilled, and visionary leaders. As the ripple effects continue to spread, these women contribute not only to their personal growth but also to the broader development of Sierra Leone's socio-economic landscape. Your support is an investment in a brighter, more inclusive future for girls and young ladies in Sierra Leone.
