Thomascia Talks about Girls' Mentoring

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Girls' mentoring sessions play a crucial role in empowering girls, promoting education, fostering skill development, providing career guidance, enhancing health and well-being, offering social support, and creating positive community impact. Mentoring helps girls unlock their full potential and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

Thomascia tells us about one of her favorite mentoring sessions in this video.

Hello, my name is Thomascia. I'm one of the beneficiaries of Develop Africa. Let me take you back to our previous mentoring sessions, in 2023 I learned so many things at the girls' mentoring sessions.  One of the things that inspired me the most was the topic of how to make money which is entrepreneurship.  I always asked myself about entrepreneurship and by coming to the session I learned many new things.  Having skills is very important because when we girls have skills, we will make more money than if we depend on somebody else.  Thank you very much.

Your support helps make these mentoring sessions possible as well as supporting girls' education.   You are truly making a difference with every dollar you donate.  If you are not yet a recurring donor and would like to make a greater impact you can set up a recurring donation here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

With great appreciation,

Amy and the Develop Africa team

PS.Did you know that GlobalGiving will match your new recurring donation? Donations up to $200 USD per unique donor per project from donors setting up a new monthly donation will be matched one-time at 100% after four total payments.
