Last August, we shared the exciting news that Kotarah had turned in her report card, showing excellent academic performance.
During the 2023-24 school year, Kotarah completed her senior secondary education and then took the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). This crucial exam is a mandatory requirement in Sierra Leone, marking the final step before students can move on to college. It was thanks to your support that Kotarah was able to take the WASSCE and we are so happy for her that she passed and is ready to move on to college.
Kotarah is now preparing to apply for a degree program in Procurement at IPAM (Institute of Public Administration and Management) and hopes to start classes in January.
Supporting the education of girls in Sierra Leone is not just about individual success—it’s about empowering communities, breaking the cycle of poverty, and fostering gender equality. Educated women are more likely to invest in their families and communities, creating healthier and more prosperous societies for generations to come.
Your contributions, whether through monthly donations or one-time gifts, continue to make a profound impact in the lives of girls like Kotarah.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
