Unlocking Potential Through Education: Spotlight on Aminata

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Aminata's ready for class four
Aminata's ready for class four

In Sierra Leone’s education system, Mathematics and English Language are pivotal subjects, shaping a student’s academic foundation and future opportunities. Proficiency in Mathematics develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning, serving as the backbone for fields like science, technology, engineering, and economics. Meanwhile, English fosters effective communication, comprehension, and expression—skills essential for success in the classroom, workplace, and beyond. Mastery of these subjects is key to unlocking a student’s potential and building a pathway to lifelong success.

Aminata, one of our supported students, exemplifies the impact of educational support. Her latest report card highlights her "very good" performance in both Mathematics and English. Thanks to generous donors like you, Aminata is fully equipped for her Class Four studies in the 2024-25 school year, with her school fees, books, and supplies covered.

We are proud of Aminata’s achievements and excited to see where her educational journey leads. With your help, we will continue to empower more girls like her to reach their full potential.

The most effective way to support girls’ education is through a monthly donation. Your recurring contributions create sustainable change, but every single donation—no matter the size—makes a difference.

Save the Date: Giving Tuesday, December 3rd

On Giving Tuesday, your generosity goes even further with GlobalGiving’s bonus funds. Let’s create a wave of good for girls’ education!

With heartfelt appreciation,
Amy & The Develop Africa Team
