Thanks in part to your generosity, students at Hope Academy for Girls in York Village, Western Area, Sierra Leone, received essential school supplies to support their education!
During a special visit, Olivia, a dedicated Develop Africa child sponsor from the U.S., joined the DASL team to personally distribute supplies and encourage / motivate the students.
Motivation is the driving force behind educational success. It fuels a student's desire to learn, persist through challenges, and strive for excellence. With the right motivation—whether intrinsic, driven by curiosity and passion, or extrinsic, encouraged by rewards and recognition—students become more engaged, resilient, and determined to reach their full potential. A motivated learner not only absorbs knowledge more effectively but also develops critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love for learning. By fostering motivation in education, we empower students to dream big, overcome obstacles, and achieve remarkable success in their academic and professional journeys.
The girls were filled with gratitude and excitement, knowing that these resources will help them stay engaged in their studies and work toward a brighter future.

Education is life-changing—when girls are given the opportunity to learn, they break the cycle of poverty, uplift their families, and strengthen their communities. Your support helps make this possible!
