Breaking Barriers: Giving Girls the Digital Tools to Succeed

Your generosity is helping transform the lives of young girls at the FAWE All-Girls Computer Lab in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Thanks in part to your support, students are gaining valuable digital skills, equipping them to navigate today’s technology-driven world with confidence.

During a recent computer training session, the tutor took a hands-on approach, guiding students through essential computer tasks. By encouraging them to open, close, and navigate programs, asking questions to check their understanding, and patiently explaining concepts when needed, the tutor helped build their confidence with every interaction.

Students like Danella and Hawa practiced PowerPoint skills, learning how to type text onto slides, switch between slides, and navigate the interface. Under the tutor’s guidance, they mastered how to properly save and close presentations—an essential skill for academic and professional growth.

Providing girls with computer literacy opens doors to greater educational and career opportunities. Your support is breaking down barriers and ensuring that girls in Sierra Leone can thrive in the digital age.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to girls’ education! If you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.
