Learning Through Joy: Kamawornie Girls Spell, Count & Shine

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

We’re happy to share another heartwarming milestone from the Kamawornie Nursery School! In this short video clip, you’ll meet Zainab and Kamara, two young learners confidently demonstrating what they’ve learned in class.

Zainab proudly recites the days of the week—from Sunday through Saturday—while Kamara spells out the numbers one to ten with joy and precision. These bright girls are not just memorizing facts—they are building the foundational skills that will carry them into a lifetime of learning.

This progress is made possible because of donors like YOU.

Early childhood education is more than ABCs and 123s—it’s about nurturing confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking from the earliest years. At the Kamawornie Nursery School, playful, interactive learning is helping children develop literacy, numeracy, and communication skills that will prepare them for primary school and beyond.

When young girls like Zainab and Kamara receive a strong educational start, it opens doors to a brighter future. Studies show that girls who attend quality early education programs are more likely to stay in school, complete higher levels of education, and grow into empowered, self-sufficient women. They go on to break generational cycles of poverty and inspire others in their communities.

Every smile, every recitation, and every new skill is a testament to your impact.

Your continued support allows us to provide essential resources like school supplies, nutritious snacks, trained teachers, and safe learning spaces. Every dollar helps shape a future filled with opportunity.

Please consider sharing this project with your friends and family. Together, we are creating lasting change—one child, one classroom, and one community at a time.
