At the FAWE Primary School, 17 creative LEGO boxes were distributed to the girls. Each box contained colorful Lego-style pieces and an illustrated step-by-step guide, inviting them to design their own characters, animals, objects, and scenes.
The girls reached eagerly into the boxes, and within minutes, the classroom transformed into a vibrant studio of builders. Building the LEGO sets nurtured problem-solving, sparked creativity, and boosted confidence.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning opportunities like these are especially powerful for girls. They help break down gender stereotypes, build skills in critical thinking and innovation, and inspire girls to envision themselves as future engineers, scientists, and leaders. By engaging with hands-on STEM tools, girls gain not only knowledge but also the confidence to pursue careers that are often underrepresented by women—paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future.
What made the day even more special was their awareness that this joy was possible because of caring donors like you. Their bright smiles and heartfelt gratitude reflect the powerful difference donors like you make.
Thank you for standing with us to empower girls through education and creativity to become future leaders in their communities.
With gratitude,
Amy & The Develop Africa Team
