Program Manager Visits the FAWE School

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Thanks to your continued support, the FAWE school is helping girls in Sierra Leone gain valuable skills that will prepare them for a brighter, more connected future.

A recent visit was conducted by Program Manager, Mr. Emeka K.to assess the functionality and impact of the FAWE Computer Lab. During the visit, he met with FAWE leadership, including the Chairperson, FAWE/Develop Africa Liaison Officer, and Headteacher at the FAWE Primary School.

The computer lab currently serves Classes 4 and 5, providing essential computer literacy training to young girls. The team visited Classes 4, 5, and 6 to interact with the pupils and assess their understanding and retention of computer lessons.

It was encouraging to see how much the students have learned. Many of the girls confidently recalled lessons on computer parts, how to power a computer on and off, and how to use simple applications. Their enthusiasm and ability to explain what they’ve learned clearly demonstrate the positive and lasting impact of the training.

To ensure continued progress, the team recommended the development of a structured computer training syllabus to support consistent monitoring, standardized instruction, and measurable learning outcomes.

Your generosity helps make this possible. Because of you, girls in Sierra Leone are learning essential 21st-century skills, building confidence, and unlocking opportunities that will shape their futures.

Thank you for investing in education, empowerment, and the future of young girls in Sierra Leone.

With heartfelt thanks,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
