The Year of the Pencil distribution, which took place on November 20th, reached 20 schools across Freetown, ensuring that thousands of students received the basic tools they need to learn. Among the schools supported was Juba Army Municipal Infant Primary School, where 676 students each received pencils—providing a total of 6,760 pencils to eager young learners.
Students at Juba Army Municipal Infant Primary School were all smiles as they received their new pencils, a moment filled with excitement and pride that could be seen throughout the classrooms.
A simple pencil may seem small, but for many children, it represents the difference between completing classwork or falling behind. Because of donors like you, thousands of young learners—especially young girls—now have reliable access to the tools they need to succeed.
As we continue our commitment to empowering young learners, we invite you to stay connected and keep making a difference. Together, we are building a stronger foundation for education throughout Sierra Leone.
With gratitude,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
