Supporting Girls in Technology-15 New Keyboards in the FAWE Lab

Thanks to the generosity of donors, important upgrades have recently been made to the FAWE Computer Lab, helping ensure that more girls have access to the technology skills they need to succeed in school and future careers.

Through this support, several essential items were purchased and delivered, including 15 new desktop keyboards, monitor power supply adapters, a standing fan, and a power supply extension. While these items may seem simple, they are making a meaningful difference in the daily learning experience of the students who rely on the lab.

The new keyboards replaced older units that were broken or no longer functional, allowing more computers to become fully operational again. This means more girls can now participate in hands-on training sessions instead of waiting for access to working equipment. Having reliable computers during practical sessions is especially important as students build confidence and competence in digital skills.

The FAWE Computer Lab plays an important role in helping girls gain access to digital education in an environment where girls are often underrepresented in technology training. Through this lab, girls are learning essential computer skills such as basic computing, Microsoft Office applications, and digital literacy—skills that prepare them for higher education and employment opportunities.

Your support is helping ensure that girls have the tools they need not only to learn, but to thrive.  Thank you for believing in the power of girls’ education and for helping Develop Africa continue creating opportunities through technology and training.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
