Girls and young women like Christiana and Suadiatu are gaining the digital skills they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and their communities. Recently, they were among the graduates of Develop Africa Sierra Leone’s Microsoft Office Training Program, an important step toward expanding opportunities for young women through technology education.

This program was designed to equip students with practical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher—essential tools that support academic success and prepare students for today’s workforce. Through hands-on training, participants learned how to create professional documents, analyze data using spreadsheets, develop presentations, and understand basic database management.

For girls especially, access to technology training can be life-changing. Programs like this help ensure that young women like Christiana and Suadiatu are not left behind in a rapidly changing digital world. By gaining these skills, they are better prepared to pursue higher education, compete for jobs, and become financially independent.

Christiana and Suadiatu’s success is a direct reflection of the generosity of donors like you. Because of you, more girls are gaining access to training that empowers them to dream bigger and achieve more.

Thank you for believing in the power of girls’ education and for helping Develop Africa continue preparing the next generation of young women leaders in Sierra Leone.

Together, we are helping girls gain the skills they need to succeed and lead.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
