One of the schools impacted by the Year of the Pencil was Dantrimark Academy, where 234 students each received a pencil pouch filled with 10 pencils and a sharpener. The response was immediate and inspiring. Students proudly held up their new supplies, teachers expressed sincere appreciation, and classrooms were filled with renewed excitement for learning.
Each pencil represents possibility. Behind every one is a student with dreams of becoming a teacher, nurse, engineer, or leader in their community. Your generosity is helping turn those dreams into something tangible and achievable.
As we celebrate the continued success of the Year of the Pencil, we are also marking an important milestone—Develop Africa’s 20th Anniversary. For two decades, supporters like you have helped expand access to education and create opportunities for students to succeed.
