HOPE Continues Post-Flood Work - House Reconstruction Efforts
HOPE is still actively working on post 2022 Pakistan Flood Crisis efforts. We recently reconstructed houses for three families who were living in dismal conditions following the 2022 Pakistan Flood Crisis and two more families’ houses are also almost completed. These efforts were sponsored by a charitable organization – Darul Sadaqa786 – and a private donor.
Families receiving houses were living in poverty prior to the Flood Crisis and their few belongings were completely destroyed. As shown in the “before” picture, the constituents started out in houses made of twigs or branches. By the Grace of God and the generosity of Darul Sadaqa786 and a private donor, they have now been moved into solid concrete structures that will protect them from the elements and withstand natural disasters more robustly.
These are houses constructed in Sujawal, Sindh, Pakistan.
Sujawal is a densely populated area about 80 miles from Karachi and 16 miles from Thatta. Its 800,000 constituents live in dire poverty, and health facilities in the area are nonexistent. HOPE has multiple outreach efforts to help the residents of Sujawal ranging from Healthcare to Education to Vocational Training to Clean Water to Food Security to Ramadan Activities to Qurbani to Disaster Relief (which includes this House Reconstruction Project).
Thank you so much to Darul Sadaqa786 and our private donor for their kindness and for putting a smile on these families' faces. Each family consists of either widows with children or those whose houses were completely demolished in recent floods; typically, a family has approximately eight people.
As soon as we receive pictures of the remaining houses under construction, we will issue another report.
