HOPE USA Director, Ambereen Siddiqui, takes a few moments to talk about her inspiration and the humble, grassroots movement started by HOPE Pakistan Founder, Dr. Mubina Agboatwalla 25 years ago.

HOPE initially began when Dr. Mubina was training to be a pediatrician at Dow Medical in Karachi. She and a small band of volunteers decided to do what was in their capacity at the time to address the healthcare crisis that plagues Pakistan. Due to the poverty that is ubiquitous throughout Pakistan, they had no shortage of poor people around them that were in dire need of healthcare and medications. Soon, what began as a sincere seed and inspiration, grew to an organization that uses a multi pronged approach to poverty alleviation which includes Health, Education, Vocational Training, Clean Water, and Disaster Relief.
Today, by the Grace of God, HOPE provides free/nominal cost poverty alleviation services to 900,000 individuals yearly; 70% of whom are women and children.
