By Ambereen Siddiqui | Director - HOPE USA
Dear HOPE Friends,
Eid Mubarak from the Entire Team of HOPE! Our Heartfelt Gratitude and Warm Wishes to All on this Special Occasion Commemorating the End of the Blessed Month of Ramadan!
Oftentimes When People are Living Below Poverty Levels, Interventional Measures by Humanitarian Organizations are Purely Focused on Fulfilling Basic Needs Such as Food and Shelter. HOPE USA Has Incorporated a Multipronged Approach to Poverty Alleviation Which Addresses Fundamental Core Needs While Concurrently Placing Due Significance on Mental Health, Especially that of Vulnerable Children.
The Islamic Holiday of Eid ul Fitr is Celebrated Enthusiastically Across Muslim Countries. It's a Time of Merriment, Special Foods, and New Clothes Following a Rigorous Month of Fasting and Spiritual Devotion. For Those Living Below Poverty Levels Though, Eid Can Feel Just Like Any Other Day Throughout the Year as Thousands of Impoverished Communities are Grappling With the Burden of Not Having Enough to Provide for Their Families' Rudimentary Needs, Let Alone Splurging for a Holiday.
HOPE USA Has Taken Active Steps to Prioritize the Mental Health of Children Living in Underserved Communities. We Endeavor to Uplift Poor Children in a Holistic Manner by Alleviating the Hardships They Face in Fulfilling Their Basic Needs While Simultaneously Nurturing their Emotional Well-Being and Mental Health.
A Gesture as Simple as the Gift of New Clothes on a Special Holiday Goes a Long Way in Combatting the Psychosocial Toll of Poverty Upon Innocent Minds. Our Eid Clothes Distributions are Paired With Multiple Community Iftar Events (Sponsored by Our Corporate Partners) Throughout Ramadan in Which Children Enjoy a Sit-down Iftar/Dinner With Their Peers and Also Receive Food Rations to Take Home to Their Families.
Children Living in Disadvantaged Neighborhoods and Rural and Remote Villages in Pakistan Are Absolutely Thrilled to Receive New Clothes to Wear on Eid and They Continue to Wear Them as Often as They Can Throughout the Year. The Joy and Pride on Their Faces as They Receive New Clothes is Truly Heartwarming. For the Vast Majority of These Children, Eid is the Only Time of Year They Receive New Clothes and It's a Rare Luxury They are Ever So Grateful to Partake In.
As the Blessed Occasion of Eid ul Fitr Graces Us, We Wish to Send Our Heartfelt Gratitude and Best Wishes to All Our Organizational/Corporate Supporters, Private Donors, as Well as the GlobalGiving Team. We are So Honored to Have Your Trust and Will Work Our Hardest to Maximize Your Impact Within Underserved Communities in Pakistan.
Eid Mubarak and Our Best Wishes to All!
Warm Regards,
The HOPE USA Team
